No ideas about tactics yet, the normal boilie approach is the most cost effective for me......mostly because I have some in the freezer lol!!!

When we fished it back in November Andee fished with maggots and after the initial day of socialising, he put a lot of effort in. He ended up with a couple of lovely carp but also had a bream or two (I think) and a 6lb eel.

I went with boilies and had one out

I reckon either way will hopefully put a few on the bank. That said, this time round, there will be a lot more lines in the water

And because he said he'll sort me out for bait, he'll pop some hookbaits around to my swim and I'll cast to his

Nah, got bait sorted today... 20kg of the finest, might even have enough left for an afternoon on the canal, as long as the canals fish with hookbaits only... :D

We've been offered a weekend on Thorney Weir (The Mets) comprising the majority of the lake, (up to 18 swims max), the precise area for which can be chosen by us in advance.

So what's the score going to be with regards to swims and also any sort of draw for swims. Just wondering as chances are I probably wont get there before/bang on 5.00pm so wondered if we can choose a few in advance just in case our name comes out of the draw etc etc etc
