The ceramics on my tip eye on my Chub Outkast 50 has fallen out and i just wanted to know of any good places where i can get it repaired i would take it to my local tackle shop for 12.50 but ive had a few run-ins with him n to make matters worse the rod was a shelf item and the fittings of the butt ring are crap and the ring is pretty much coming off plus when i tested the rod in the shop back in december he let go of the tip which smacked into the light which probably loosened it

Go to another shop and buy a tip ring they usually have a boxful under the counter if they are a long standing decent concern. Gauge one that looks about the right size... should only be a couple of quid at the most.
Tip rings are usually just fixed with 'Araldite' or similar epoxy resin (with the Outkast probably a clone) and remove the old one by heating it with a 99p lighter...it will easily pull off once the resin melts. Then simply replace the new one using Araldite Rapide again.
Wipe off any excess and your'e done. That should cost you about £6 unless your Dad already has the Araldite and wvery bloke worth his salt should have some and a tin of WD40 unless he's a wimp.
Failing that get in touch with Chub and tell them you have only had the rod a short while they may do it for the postage.
If you can make a baiting needle and other stuff that you posted up you can easily whip on a butt ring it's dead easy. I used to make all my carp rods from blanks so do that yourself and varnish it with a good yauct varnish.
Good Luck.

You will not do any good just replacing the ceramic it will come away again and anyway the only way to re-fix it IMO is the PROPER superglue not that crap they sell in the Pound shops. Get a new tip ring for a couple of quid and fit it as I explained is the solution. Its easy.
TBH this is normally the drawback of budget rod (and some more expensive ones)s made in the Far East...the inners fall out of the rings regularly with little abuse although they may look like silicon Fuji's they are far removed from that quality which is the best.
If anyone wants to know if their rod guides are the genuine Fuji guides they are all stamped on the guide stem. If they are not stamped they are clones.

Are you sure BB, Fuji SIC's on a Chub outcast, a full set would cost more than the rod :o
